PTS: from field inspection to operational management
Field inspections produced information, photos and evidence that had to be checked, organised and consolidated before management could use any of it.
What was at stake
- Time spent after the inspection ends
- Incomplete records, and the rework they create
- Delay between doing the work and having the result available
- Little visibility into productivity, quality and recurring defects
What I did
I modelled the operational flow, the business rules and the states an inspection goes through. From that, I built a system with a mobile app, offline operation, structured evidence, review, a management dashboard and production infrastructure.
What the product changes
What the inspector records in the field already feeds the structure of the result, cutting later consolidation and creating a base to measure time, completeness, rework, productivity and cost per inspection.
